I kissed a girl.

Little monkey sat in the front passenger seat all smiles and more than a little dreamy eyed when I picked her up after school yesterday.

I smiled at her and asked her how her day was...

"I had my first kiss Mom," she sighed.

"Aww baby, that's awesome!"

"Yeah, it was so good."  She just sat there staring off in the distance.

We went out for ice cream to celebrate her special day.

That's REALLY nice! Good that you celebrated with an ice cream, too.

I can't imagine any of my children saying that, reporting in such a direct way on something emotionally important. I sometimes wish at least one of my children could do that, but it never happened.

Aww...thanks Malcolm!

Trust me when I say that my oldest isn't like that at all. She'll come to me when she has a problem but rarely volunteers up the good stuff.
The youngest tho, has always been like this, we're particularly close.
